Dear Members,

As the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread, your health and well being is of utmost importance to us.  The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that no gatherings with 10 or more take place for the next eight weeks to slow the spread.  In accordance with this recommendation, we have cancelled all seated dining.  We are offering take-out orders only.  Please see our list of what we are offering on the front page of this newsletter.  Our plan is to reschedule our buffets when the situation has improved.  We ask for your understanding during this difficult time.

With Easter just around the corner, we are going to help you with your dinner.  If you have a cake or pie you would like, we will be happy to help you with it.  Also, Don’t forget about our cinnamon rolls.  We can also bake our bread or dinner rolls for you.  (This is contingent upon us being able to secure the ingredients.)  Give us a try on our take-out!  This is all new to us and we do want to be of service to you.

As of now, Country Clubs can still have the golf course open, while municipal courses must close.  We have many rules to follow-all the ball washers have been removed as well as the water and cups and the rakes for the sand traps.  You must use the plastic gloves if you need to get the ice we furnish for you use in the golf shop.  Please read John’s column for more of the rules.  No need to mention, we have had so much rain...about 9 inches.  The course has water running over the spillway.

Please say a prayer for all the people ill with the COVID-19.  Let us all pray that this will end very soon.

                 Easter blessings to you,

                 Charles & Shirley

My prayer for this month:

Sickness, suffering, and sin are present in our lives.  God’s love is the ultimate healing.  In Christ, power heals, and absolute power heals absolutely!  “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on the  faithful.” -Psalm 103:13

I usually start my articles talking about the weather, and it has been extraordinarily soggy, but that pales in comparison to the state of affairs in the world today. The good news is that thus far we are able to open the golf course every day, and provide a respite to those who may be suffering from cabin fever. Here are a few rules we ask you to abide by so that we stay in compliance with the restrictions being handed down daily.

1. Only one group in the golf shop at a time; so as to comply with social distancing recommendations.

2. Please limit your time in golf shop as much as possible as it will also serve as t he distribution area for food service as well.

3. If you have access to antibacterial wipes, please bring some with you to use on the flagsticks as we will try to still utilize them on at least the blind greens  We will attempt to supply some but cannot guarantee availability as supplies diminish.  We will however be collecting all ball washers, bunker rakes and water coolers to limit person to person exposure.

4. Restrooms can only be accessed from the exterior doors in the rear of the clubhouse.

We will be doing all we can to maintain safe conditions for all our members and guests who utilize the course during these uncertain time; so, we ask for your patience and understanding as we all try to get through these trying times together. Be assured we will be maintaining the course daily, and as always we look forward to seeing you out on the course.
